Springtime Fun!

Well, Spring finally arrived for us a few weeks ago, and it has been absolute heaven! Walks down to the park and playing in the backyard have been daily rituals for us these past two weeks and, of course, Hayden and Aubrey's favorite part of the day!

The path in the green space behind our house is the starting line for the race down to the playground. When Hayden and Aubrey hit the path, they are off!! And quite literally, they take off as fast as I have ever seen them run! And even though Aubrey may fall down a time or two in the process, she is so overjoyed with being outside, it doesn't even phase her. She gets right back up again with a smile on her face and takes off at the same speed!

Aubrey has learned quite quickly from her older brother, it is much more fun to go down the slide head first on your belly!

And to also welcome this wonderful spring weather, we bought the kids bike helmets on the weekend which was quite the ordeal, but we finally settled on a Toy Story helmet for Hayden (complete with matching knee pads) and a purple princess helmet for Aubrey.

We are hoping to take both of them out in the bike trailer this Saturday!

But little did we know how much of a fashion accessory Aubrey's bike helmet would become for her these past two days. She will often come up to Jonathan and I and hand us her helmet for us to put on, and she will wear it until the next meal (that's where I draw the line).

But it has been wonderfully handy considering she did walk into a wall yesterday while wearing the helmet (came away unphased!) and today did a head first dive off the living room ottoman (got right back up smiling!)

Hmmm, maybe this should be a permanent fashion accessory for Aubrey!
